As a writer who has labored, sweated, bled, and literally tormented myself over the process of the craft, I can say what my favored type of writing spot is.
The first aspect of a good writing spot is being alone. Having a big family, this means I need to find a way to remove myself from the constant interruptions that having little ones running around entails.
Having left the house, another thing that is good is people watching. I enjoy writing in a crowded café most. Something about the bustle of the people moving to and for, talking and laughing and exchanging body language, fills my inspiration meter and allows me to become lost in my writing while also giving me something to zone out on while I'm formulating my next plan of verbal attack.
That being said, I think it is essential to have some headphones and some music that puts you in the zone, too. Being able to block out the noise of the scene, and appreciate the other details, helps me concentrate while also enjoying the brain-breaks such a surrounding offers.
